Set in a pretty posh-looking private residence in Rochdale, UK, this Daniel Brereton-directed video for Connan Mockasin‘s “I’m The Man, That Will Find You” follows a comically anti-climatic, romantic pas-de-deux between the Manchester-based, New Zealand-born songwriter and American model Naomi Shimada. It plays out sort of like a fragmentary wish fulfillment dream in which a would-be Cassanova gets stuck in a house with the lady of his dreams for no apparent reason at all. That narrative implausibility feels pretty appropriate for the track, which sounds less like a seduction song per se than the interior monologue of someone running down a list of various embarrassing, blush-inducing pick-up lines. It’s a single from Mockasin’s enjoyably slinky Caramel album. [Source]
