Originally released in 1989, “The Machineries Of Joy”, a collaboration with NITZER EBB, is now available digitally on your platform of choice.
Jurgen Engler: “The collaboration with Nitzer Ebb was quite spontaneous. We had read in a British magazine that they were highly influenced by German bands like DAF and Die Krupps, so we went to meet them in Cologne where they were playing a gig that night. They told us they had a day off the next day, so we all decided that we could collaborate on a track we all knew best, which was ‘Wahre Arbeit Wahrer Lohn’. We had already been working on a new version of the track, which we called ‘Machineries Of Joy’, so all we had to do was prepare everything in the studio that night for the recording session. The next day Douglas and Bon showed up and added their vocals, and the rest is history.”
“Bon and Douglas did some remixes for the 12″ single releases, and this is one of them. It was interesting to hear our different approaches, while some were more similar than others.”
