The third single from It’s the Long Goodbye, The Twilight Sad’s sixth album and their first since 2019, out on Rock Action on March 27. The record follows James Graham through his mother’s death from early-onset frontotemporal dementia and the toll it took on his own mind. This one starts low and watchful, almost under its breath, then lets Andy MacFarlane’s guitars climb until the whole thing breaks into a roar – a landing that is attempted rather than achieved.

Written by The Twilight Sad: James Alexander Graham, Andy MacFarlane, with Alex MacKay and David Jeans. Produced by Andy MacFarlane, with additional production by Andy Savours; mixed by Chris Coady. Recorded at Battery Studios, London, 2025. From It’s the Long Goodbye, Rock Action Records, 2026. Photograph: U.S. Army Air Service, Plane No. 30516 crashed as about to land, January 2, 1919. National Archives, College Park.
