Copenhagen, Denmark quartet When Saints Go Machine has been crafting and honing since 2007, though they are just now releasing a proper debut LP, Konkylie. It may have taken all those years to reconcile the quartet’s various, individually preferred styles (citing techno, house, jazz, neo-soul, Broadcast, the Slits as influences in aggregate) into an agreeable full-length mesh, but whatever the cause for deliberation, Konkylie’s thoughtful execution and appealing hooks reflect time well spent.
