The second preview of Hotel Usona. Joe Casey took the title from a line in a Peter Greenaway film and turned it on artificial intelligence: a technology he hears working against the people it claims to serve, and a world willing to give itself away for a little convenience – part politics, part grievance, part literature, part bad joke. The band plays it as loud as a data center. Nate Varrone, the man from the “Sounds We Cannot Hear” film, is back on screen.

Words and voice: Joe Casey. Recorded with Dave Fridmann at Tarbox Road Studios in western New York; co-produced by Greg Ahee. From Hotel Usona, Domino, September 25, 2026. Film directed by Andrew Theodore Balasia, produced by Philip Steiger, starring Nate Varrone. Photograph: Nadar, Égouts de Paris, 1864–65 – made by electric light deep under the city; the exposures ran so long that mannequins stood in for the sewer workers.
