The fourth and last single before The Great Parrot-Ox and the Golden Egg of Empathy arrived on May 1. Here the machines of the story have woken up: they are beginning to understand love, grief and the fact that they will end. Sean Ono Lennon has called the song a message to newly conscious robots, and a consolation – whatever is alive, made or born, is part of the same melody of entropy. Rich Ragsdale’s animated video carries the album’s comic-book world one chapter further.
Performed by Les Claypool and Sean Ono Lennon; produced by Les Claypool and Sean Ono Lennon. Recorded at Rancho Relaxo, Sonoma County, and The Farm, New York.
