Christine Owman – Deathbed (2013)

“Well, the story behind the lyrics is that I was at a photo exhibition about people on their deathbed at a hospice, telling about their lives and regrets. Some had dealt with past regrets and made amends with loved ones, wondering why they hadn’t done this earlier. Their fear had been greater than the actual action. So I started thinking about things that I’d been pushing ahead, not wanting to deal with. And it occurred to me that if I keep doing that then I’ll never deal with it. And soon it might be too late. So I made some fundamental changes in my life to strive towards laying on my deathbed with content and as little to regret as possible.” – Christine Owman

Lyrics by Christine Owman:

Never step away from your daily routines
will you regret it on your deathbed
Ask, see what another one really means
will you regret it on your deathbed

Make amends with someone you love
will you regret it on your deathbed
Step aside and watch from above
will you regret it on your deathbed

Say no if you don’t want to
will you regret it on your deathbed
Do it just because you said you were going to
will you regret it on your deathbed
