♪ Milton Nascimento releases a new single Friday, December 18th. It is a new recording of Drão, Gilberto Gil’s composition from 1982, in the voice of the Bahian singer and composer.
Unpublished on disc, this recording of Drão was made by Milton in this year of 2020 with the pianist Amaro Freitas, at the invitation of TV Globo, for the soundtrack of the series Amor e sorte .
Created by Jorge Furtado and produced under the artistic direction of Andrucha Waddington and Patrícia Pedrosa, the four-episode series had its soundtrack based on the work of Gilberto Gil. Fifteen artists of different styles and generations recorded eleven Gil songs for the series.
Milton was responsible for giving voice to the song Drão, already re-recorded by Marília Gabriela (in 1983, one year after Gil’s original record), Djavan (in 1992) and Caetano Veloso (in 1999).
