DAVID BOWIE IS to release a double A-side vinyl single with Television’s Tom Verlaine to mark Record Store Day. The 7-inch is one of two special offerings from The Dame created for the annual celebration of the world’s independent record shops, which this year takes place on Saturday, April 18. The clear vinyl split single features both artists’ versions of the song Kingdom Come – Verlaine’s original from his 1979 self-titled solo album and Bowie’s cover version, which saw him apparently attempting to do the song in the style of Ronnie Spector, recorded for Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps) a year later. Listen to the two versions below.
