The star unveiled Clouds and U Know from his new solo record Art Official Age as well as Whitecaps from his collaborative album with band 3rd Eye Girl, Plectrum Electrum. Art Official Age is released on September 29 and marks the first time Prince has worked with record label Warner Bros since 1996’s Chaos And Disorder. The collection contains 13 songs including This Could Be Us, The Gold Standard and Breakdown, as well as an “aggressive and menacing rap” song featuring vocals from Rita Ora. “Prince is one of just a handful of visionary artists who have truly reshaped and redefined modern music and culture,” said Warner Bros chairman Cameron Strang. “For the past 35 years, he has never stopped evolving, challenging himself, reinventing his sound, and pushing boundaries. “In true Prince fashion, he has just given us not one, but two extraordinary albums that express the incredible range and depth of his talent.” All of the songs on Art Official Age are produced, arranged, composed and performed by Prince and Joshua Welton. His other album, Plectrum Electrum, will also be released on September 29 through NPG Records/Warner Bros. The records mark Prince’s first studio album in four years, after 2010’s 20Ten, which was given away for free with newspapers across Europe. [Source]
