The latest track from THE PIXIES has taken nine years to surface and when it premiered on the band’s website, it was a little confusing as fans knew Kim Deal had left the band a while back. However there were backing vocals on the new release that sounded ever so similar. It has now been announced that the mystery vocalist was in fact Kim Shattuck of THE MUFFS who has replaced the former Kim in the new PIXIES line-up. PIXIES new single ‘Bagboy’ features the interesting chant “cover your breathe, hold your speech,” which echoes throughout the song. You can’t help but wonder what those lyrics are in relation too, considering all that has gone on since their last release. [Source]
