New Music United Top 20 Chart (April 27, 2012)

Here are the 20 most popular blog singles on New Music United this week with notes by the editor:

  • A new blog single from The Beach Boys in the top five. I have to admit that I did not see that coming. It is probably their best single in 40 years, though!
  • Lots of great stuff from Record Store Day on the chart: Public Image Ltd, Brad, St. Vincent, Sigur Ros and Beach House.
  • As always, the Danish artists are well represented on the NMU chart: Choir Of Young Believers, Anders Trentemøller and The Raveonettes are some of the best artists from my tiny little home country with big stars.
  • Classic tracks from Steely Dan, Abba, Roxy Music and Duran Duran are steady fan favourites on the chart.
  • R. Stevie Moore (also part of a Record Store Day release) is an “NMU Darling”. Oh, and he is playing Roskilde Festival 2012!
