In a way, Joey Ramone never left. The Ramones have been a staple of the cultural lexicon since they began haunting the Bowery and haven’t faded since. On top of that, Joey’s first solo album Don’t Worry About Me was released a year after his life was cut short by lymphoma. Now, 11 years after his death, the Ramones’ frontman is set to release …ya know?, a collection of never-before-heard songs. The album was produced by Ed Stasium, who manned the boards for early Ramones albums like Rocket to Russia and Road to Ruin, and Ramone’s brother, musician Mickey Leigh, who was dedicated to executing Joey’s legacy. “It was of the utmost importance to me that these remaining songs of Joey’s be finished properly, and made available for the world to hear,” Leigh said of the album, which is due out May 22.
