Electronic Beats favourites Yello, who are well known for their eccentric and innovative mix of electronic music and manipulated vocals, are back with a book and a new song called ‘Mean Monday. Even though a documentary on Yello, called Electro Pop made in Switzerland, directed by Anka Schmid came out in 2005 there is also a long awaited biography of Dieter Meier and Boris Blank to look forward to. The book, edited by well-known swiss journalist Daniel Ryser, was released this week via Echtzeitverlag. Named simply Yello the book tells many interesting stories about the bands special moments: partying with Ringo Starr, composing with Shirley Bassey and the way of life in the Swiss capital Zürich back in the days. You’ll also find statements from friends and collaborators like Moby, Afrika Bambaataa or Anton Corbijn. Listen to the new track and watch the video, which was directed by Swiss artist Daniel Cherbuin. [Source]
