Written in London as a between-albums single. “It’s quite a soulful song. It’s a rarity in our catalogue,” Davies says. “It’s the only song I’ve ever written on the road. We were in London, the management said they needed an interim single so people didn’t forget who we were. I was still finishing the lyrics in the black cab on the way to the studio. I wanted to do something groove driven.” White Heat also contains an odd version with Divinyls singer Chrissie Amphlett on vocals, produced by avant garde king Bill Laswell. “He was doing psychological games and recording it all.” [Source]
