Bill Wells & Aidan Moffat – The Copper Top (2011)

’The Copper Top’ is the second single to be taken from Bill Wells and Aidan Moffat’s upcoming collaboration album ‘Everything’s Getting Older’, released through Chemikal Underground. Over 8 years in the making, the album was first conceived when Bill was asked to contribute to Arab Strap’s Monday At The Hug & Pint album. Previous single ‘(If You) Keep Me In Your Heart’ was actually recorded in 2003, but an insistence by the duo not to rush anything and to make it the absolute best they could means that it’s only now the rest of us get to immerse ourselves in it’s delights! For those not aware, Bill’s pedigree is as composer and leader of the Bill Wells Octet and collaborator with the likes of The Pastels and Isobel Campbell. Aidan John Moffat releases under his own solo guise, as the more experimental L. Pierre and was, of course, one half of the aforementioned iconic Scots duo Arab Strap. Live dates will be announced very soon.
