The opening track and first single of Dog Roses, Tindersticks’ fifteenth studio album, out on City Slang on March 12, 2027. After two decades in the same studio – a church, as Stuart Staples puts it – the band went down into a hidden basement room, where the old ways of making a record stopped working; he says the songs felt less like places and times than like chasing a fragrance, a knot in the stomach, a glimpse of himself in a mirror. The title nods to his 2006 solo album Leaving Songs.
Tindersticks: Stuart A. Staples, David Boulter, Neil Fraser, Earl Harvin, Dan McKinna; with Dave Okumu (electric guitar), Julian Siegel (saxophone) and Lucy Wilkins (strings). Written, composed and produced by Stuart A. Staples; recorded December 2025 – August 2026. Cover art by Sidonie Osborne Staples. From Dog Roses, City Slang / Lucky Dog, March 12, 2027 – track one of eight, the title track closes it. Sources: Hot Press, Dork, Crazyminds.
