This is our version of Return Of The Grievous Angel by the late, great Gram Parsons. The song is taken from our upcoming album “The Raveonettes Sing…” It’s a collection of some of the songs that inspired us to start the band.
“…Right before I founded The Raveonettes I played bass/guitar in legendary Danish punk band Sort Sol (Black Sun). I was introduced to a lot of different music through the lead singer and one song that always stuck with me was Gram Parsons’ Return Of The Grievous Angel. I fell in love with the words, the vibe and especially the beautiful vocal harmonies between Gram and a very young Emmylou Harris.
That song was definitely a huge inspiration for me when I thought of forming the band. Those harmonies were always ever present in my mind…”
