Rhythim Is Rhythim – Strings of Life (Original Mix) (1987)

The fourth vinyl of the Transmat label. This is the most influential house/techno record ever made. Derrick Mays strings of life with its orchestral stabs and piano riffs is a true work of art and still relevant today. There were five official versions of the song. The first two were released in 1987. The “89″ Piano mix and (Flam-Boy-Ant Mix) are the most well known.

Model 500 – Night Drive (1985)

“Time, Space…Transmat!”. Originally to be released under the Cybotron moniker but after the duo chose different musical paths, Juan decided to put it out on his Metroplex label. Inspired by the drone of automated factories, the sound of Metroplex #2 is dark, mysterious and truly unique – nothing comes close. The perfect follow up to “No UFO’s” and a blueprints for almost every Electro record ever since. Juan Atkins in his prime.

Cybotron – Alleys Of Your Mind (1981)

This is the first record by Juan Atkins and Richard Davis (AKA 3070) recording under the name Cybotron from way back in 1981. This is one of the very first Detroit Techno tracks which helped lay the foundations for Detroit Techno as we know it today. A seminal release in the true sense of the word. Apparently, this was released just after the landmark track “Sharevari” by ANUMBEROFNAMES, also in 1981. To my knowledge, 10,000 copies of this 7″ record were sold. This was also pressed with a red and white label. Deep Space records catalogue 107043X.
